>Description:
I've set up second logical drive on the raid
whether I try to label it or whatever (newfs etc.) it shows the following error:
(da1:mly0:2:1:0): SYNCHRONIZE CACHE. CDB: 35 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
(da1:mly0:2:1:0): error code 0
first drive still works,
if I try to use second drive anyway - system hangs shortly.
hardware used:
platform: intel isp2150g
raid: mylex acceleraid 352 (firmware 6.00-02)
disks: any (tried IBM DNES , Seagate Barracuda)
raid configuration: 1st logical drive: raid 1 (2 disks on first channel)
2nd : whatever (tried raid1 and JBOD with disks residing either on LVD card(aic 3860q) or not , on the same or different channels)
write cache: write-thru
write cache on disk drives enabled.

configure 2 logical drives and try to use both.

Unfortunately, I am not able to reproduce the problem yet. Can you give
me a little more explicit and accurate detail about your configuration?

You mention that you have put disks on a non-Mylex SCSI channel (and it
is apparent from the above that you have at least one other SCSI bus in
the system), but you don't describe what you've done here. (nb. the 3860
is just a bus driver; I assume you're referring to the onboard SCSI
controller on the 2150 board - in this configuration do you have only one
logical drive on the Mylex controller? Why do you mention the system
 board SCSI controller at all?)

I have done this, and by itself it's not enough. (I am currently running
a world build with src on one logical drive and obj on the other...)

If you can supply some more details, I'll try to reproduce the problem
here. At the moment, however, I can't find any reason for the behaviour
 you're seeing.

no, I did not put disks on onboard controller,
I've tried both Mylex SCSI channels, 3860 card was mentioned to show that
the problem is located only between Mylex and FreeBSD

tomorrow I'll try to change Mylex card to see if it is just a buggy card
(uuuugr.. this will be third one ) and will write back asap.

for now the last 2 non-working configuration:
2 disk on 3860 card connected to 1st Mylex channel, configured as RAID1 (1st
   logical drive)
 1 disk on 2nd Mylex channel and 1 disk on 3860 , configured as RAID1 (2nd
   logical drive)
 second drive doesn't work.

2 disk on 3860 card connected to 1st Mylex channel, configured as RAID1. (1st
   logical drive)
1 disk on 2nd Mylex channel, configured as JBOD (2nd logical drive)
second drive doesn't work as well.

  Hello Mike,

 here are latest news :
I've tried booting without SMP support. This time second logical drive worked
properly. So the problem seems to be in SMP.
(also I've tried another Mylex card - it didn't solve anything)

p.s. since this machine is not yet in production process if you need access to
it I can easily do this, just let me know.
