Ipfilter v4.1.28 version of Ipfilter firewall which is included with the base FreeBSD 8.2 and 9.0 releases is no longer supported and very back level. Its mandatory that Ipfilter firewall is updated to version 5.1.1 in the upcoming FreeBSD 8.3 and 9.1 releases.

I dont think this will happen. 8-3 is already too late in the 
cycle, and I do not see this happening for 9.1 that said Darren 
is already idle for almost a year (or possibly even longer). 

I'll suspend the ticket untill someone can actually work on this. 
I would mention though that I will close the PR in 3 months time 
if no one does the work (since it obviously doesn't attract any 
one then).
