State-Changed-Why:
Hi,

It sounds like your PS2 keyboard may not be getting detected by the kernel.

It sounds like you can install using a USB keyboard? If so, once you've
installed, could you please provide the output of the "dmesg" command?

If you don't wish to go through the install, is there any chance you could
press the scroll-lock key when the installer has loaded, press page-up, and
with a digital camera take photos of each screen, pressing page up again
and capturing them all?

Hopefully we'll be able to determine exactly why it isn't getting detected.

Thanks

Subject: Re: kern/163890: ps2 keyboard not detected by kernel? [regression]
Date: Sun, 3 Jun 2012 02:42:56 +0200

It seems that this bug is affecting my system now, too.

In my case it regards a system where a recent Xen from xen-unstable.hg
is installed on top of a Linux 3.4 kernel. Then I installed FreeBSD 9
amd64 from iso as a domU, follwed by compiling world and kernel
 from STABLE.

Whereas the GENERIC kernel allows me to use the keyboard over Xen's
VNC, XENHVM does not. I have used exactly the same installation on
other systems, the most recent working one dates to May 25th. On those
systems I don't have the same issues.

The only difference in the XENHVM kernel config is
 MODULES_OVERRIDE="opensolaris zfs". I haven't tried to build a GENERIC
 kernel yet.

I'm open to further testing but I'll need to be told what to do. :)

 Mark

Me too stuck with PS2 keyboard not getting detected. I could install
successfully with a usb keyboard but once I remove the usb keyboard and
connect a PS2, it doesnt work anymore. Removing the ps2 keyboard and
connecting it back doesnt have any effects also.

 Regards
 Babs
