>Description:
I used AHCI, i.e. the option ``device ahci'', in the kernel---so /dev/ada* for mounting.
When copying large files, there happen to be timeouts like:
---SCHNIPP---
ahcich2: Timeout on slot 18 port 0
ahcich2: is 00000000 cs 00040000 ss 00000000 rs 00040000 tfd c0 serr 00000000 cmd 0000d217
ahcich2: Timeout on slot 13 port 0
ahcich2: is 00000000 cs 00002000 ss 00000000 rs 00002000 tfd c0 serr 00000000 cmd 0000cd17

ahcich2: Timeout on slot 11 port 0

---schnapp---
and the system becomes that slow, that starting an xterm takes up to e.g. one minute, and some ``ls'' about 40 seconds (the actual amount of time varies).

Some further information:
---SCHNIPP--- dmesg|grep -i ahci

It is an ``ASUS P8H67-M Rev.3.0 (New H67 B3 Revision)'' motherboard.

May be these information help.

 I confirm this problem on 9.0-RELEASE amd64

 Motherboard: ASUS P8H67-M LGA1155 H67
 HDD: protocol ATA/ATAPI-7 SATA 2.x
 device model SAMSUNG HD103SI
 firmware revision 1AG01118
 ZFS

I can give more details and info if requested, ready to test patches
 etc.

I don't agree this problem is low priority. It is actually very
annoying and prevents any normal use of the system.
