>Description:

As soon as I start X with either an X850 or X1900 in this particular machine running 9.0-CURRENT, I get a kernel crash. There is no kernel debug prompt, and no dump created. The only output on the serial port is below. A radeon HD4850 works fine, leading me to believe that this is specific to the r300-r500 DRM code. If I configure Xorg to disable glx and dri, X starts up.

Similar lockup happens with another machine (same x1900 video card).
Both machines are updated to -CURRENT as of 03/07/2011. Both are
multiprocessor AMD64 systems with 2+ gigs of RAM (2 gigs on one and 4
 gigs on another).

 Fix:

Recompile xf86-video-ati without the patch-src-radeon_driver.c patch.

close because it's a ports problem, and submitter rebuild fixed the
problem.
