>Description:
According to one-of-those-well-known techie rumour sites on the net, Oracle has relicensed the SUN RPC code which previously had an inconvenient term:

From /head/sys/rpc/rpc.h
" ... Users
 * may copy or modify Sun RPC without charge, but are not authorized
 * to license or distribute it to anyone else except as part of a product or
 * program developed by the user.
..
"

>Fix:
New Oracle license looks like a 3-Clause BSD License.

I asked Simon Phipps a bit more about this, his answer was:
 _____________
The permission to relicense was given to Red Hat. I believe you can find it here:

 http://sources.redhat.com/git/?p=glibc.git;a=commit;h=a7ab6ec83e144dafdc7c46b8943288f450f8e320

 ______________
It can be confirmed that the code there is under a three clause BSD license.

It happens to be that Linux/Oracle developers working on
NFSv4 took FreeBSD RPC code and along with some modifications
relicensed all the code under a BSD license.

With Xin Li's help I have been able to find this commits:

 http://git.infradead.org/users/steved/libtirpc.git/commit/ba3945e2c7828be7926fd55d50f03db97dc7e022

 The first commit says:
"Replace the Sun RPC license with the BSD license, with the explicit
 permission of Sun Microsystems"

  FWIW,
A quick review (by OpenGrok) shows the affected code lives in:

  include/rpc
  lib/libc/rpc
  sys/rpc

  and also
  usr.sbin/rpcbind

Where relicensing corresponds to this commit:
