>Description:
My msk0 card sometime completely crashes out, and begins spitting out "msk0: phy write timeout message".

Have started a thread on forums.freebsd.org where most of the information is hopefully available. http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=16638
dmesg output is available in the thread.

In order to resolv the problem a reboot is required. ifconfig msk0 up && ifconfig msk0 down does not help.

The problem does not occur at specific times. Now it occured while the machine was idling, other times it has occurred while playing media with mplayer. Sometimes the problem arises almost immediately after booting, other times the machine can be on for days without the problem.

I will gladly help in submitting more information once I know what is helpful.

>How-To-Repeat:
No idea, have not been able to consistently determine a time when it occurs

If I suspend my LapTop to RAM using the command
  acpiconf -i 3
I happen to have the same problem=E2=80=94every time I try this out.

State-Changed-When: Sun May 29 22:57:22 UTC 2011
State-Changed-Why:
I received positive reports from msk(4) users who are suffering
from msk(4) instability and I think this issue also might be fixed
in latest msk(4) in HEAD.
For your easy testing, I've back-ported msk(4) of HEAD to
8.2-RELEASE. Please download the two files at the following URL and
rebuild kernel. Make sure to you cold-start your box before
rebooting to new kernel(i.e. unplug power cable and wait 10-20
seconds and boot).
