State-Changed-Why:
To submitter: Can you confirm that with the card removed from the
system, you can install FreeBSD? If so, could you please provide
the output of "dmesg" and "pciconf -l"? Also, are you running the
i386 or amd64 version of FreeBSD?

Secondly, it would be useful if you can then install the card, and
attempt the boot again. If you are able to obtain the same
information above then that would be great, otherwise please take
an exact note of the lines beginning with "bktr" (use scroll lock
and page-up to see the messages printed on boot).

Feedback received:

Yes I confirm that the FreeBSD 7 installer runs (and go to the end)
when the card is removed.
I tried the i386 version.

I finally Installed ubuntu on this machine.
I have no pciinfo on it!
here you are the dmesg output attached.

Remark: ubuntu has the same issue with this card. Once installed, I
put again the card inside the PC.

Let me know if I can run any command in the ubuntu distribution.

And once the operating system was installed, putting the card back into
the machine prevents it from booting again?

Sadly, you had forgotten to attach the dmesg. It will still be very
useful to try and diagnose the problem.

Do you have a serial port on this machine and the ability to use it as a
console? If so, it would be very useful if you could perform a verbose
boot without the card in the machine, and another one with the card in
the machine, and provide both sets of boot messages.

So, Ubuntu couldn't install while this card was in the machine, but once
installed you put the card back in and Ubuntu still works fine? That is
 odd.

"lspci -vvnn" would be useful from Ubuntu.
