>Description:
The machine will not boot without assistance if there is any
        loader.conf file, even a copy of defaults/loader.conf in /boot.

>How-To-Repeat:
Set up a loader.conf file -- simply place a copy of the default file
in /boot. This appears to be a problem on i386 too, but haven't
        tested yet.
>Fix:

Configure with the /boot/defaults/loader.conf file. Boots fine then.
Remember to keep a copy of your loader.conf file, not in boot, or under
another name. (eg. /boot/loader.conf~) There are warnings not to do
this because of updates, but having a backup is a complete solution.

State-Changed-When: Sun Jan 18 16:58:08 UTC 2009
State-Changed-Why:
To submitter: is this new behaviour? If so, do you know when the last
time it worked was? There were some changes to the loader on 20th November
that may be related. Do you know if it worked with source before that date?
