I'm using the boot CD iso available on your site.
>Description:
I can boot into FreeBSD using the .iso available here:

ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/ISO-IMAGES/7.0/

I chose the boot only ISO.

This ISO boots just fine when I don't have my SATA card installed, but halts on boot when I do install it.

My PCI SATA Card is:

Part Number: G61020000000016 (PROMISE TECHNOLOGY INC)

The website for the manufacturer and the product is here:

http://www.promise.com/product/product_detail_eng.asp?product_id=191

Full Specifications: Promise Technology Promise FastTrak TX4650
Full Specs Type	Storage controller (RAID)
Interface Type	Serial ATA-300 / SAS
Required Slot Type	PCI Express x1
Form Factor	Plug-in card
Supported Devices	Hard drive, Disk array (RAID)
Manufacturer Part No.	FTTX4650
UPC	704118023011
Dimension	2.7 in x - x 4.4 in (HxWxD)

This card is quite inexpensive and I'm sure is quite popular.

I have no idea. I'm sorry.

I'm just trying to report something I think is amiss.

 Can you try this image?
 ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/snapshots/200803/8.0-CURRENT-200803-i386-bootonly.iso

It seems like a loader problem, which was already fixed in HEAD and
 merged to STABLE.

Upon further testing on my end. The problem only arises (for me) when
there is actually a RAID array established via the card (i.e. the card
is active). With no raid array being maintained, the system will boot fine.

Ah, my DNS was having issues when I responded to this originally.. (so it
 didn't register with bug-followup@)

This still occurred with the 8.0-CURRENT provided above. As Niall mentioned,
this occurs only with an array established.

To submitter: Another bug has recently been fixed in the BTX loader,
are you able to test again with a recent version of FreeBSD (the
7.2-BETA1 or 7.2-RC1 ISO images, or anything later will contain the fix).

Thanks!

Currently bug is still here - on 9.0 release BTX halted if Promise
Fasttrack 2650 controller (with established raid array) is installed.
