>Description:
Motherboard pdsm4+, processor Pentium D 3.0, SATA raid 9550SXU-4LP

When I booting from installation disk 6.2-RELEASE-amd64-disc1.iso,
computer hangs up, and only hardware reset can help. Last line on boot
screen before hangs up:

acd0: CDRW <TSSTcorpCDW/DVD SN-M242C/TS03> at ata0-slave UDMA33

>How-To-Repeat:
Motherboard Supermicro pdsm4+, processor Pentium D 3.0, SATA raid
9550SXU-4LP 6.2-RELEASE-amd64-disc1.iso
>Fix:
Booting with ACPI disabled, install sytem and rebuilding kernel with
SMP support.

With a kernel having support SMP, it is booting and works normally.

State-Changed-When: Mon Apr 7 16:57:24 UTC 2008
State-Changed-Why:
To submitter: Are you able to retest with FreeBSD 6.3 or 7.0 and see
if this is still an issue?

Can I also please confirm: With the GENERIC kernel from the 6.2-RELEASE
CDs, the only way you can get the machine to boot is to disable ACPI?
And recompiling the kernel with SMP is sufficient to get it working with
ACPI enabled?

Now it is production server and I can not hold such a test.
Another machine with the same configuration I hav't.

 Exactly as you describe.

State-Changed-Why:
Feedback was received. Mark suspended as sumbitter can no longer
test things, but the hardware is new enough that somebody else who
will be able to test will come along
