>Description:
Please consider adding "device carp" to the GENERIC kernel. We have many servers using carp and it increases the complexity of installs and (binary) upgrades when you have to build a custom kernel only for this functionality. The kernel size increase is small and the benefits are (IMHO) worthwhile.
>How-To-Repeat:
device carp is not in the GENERIC kernel and it is very difficult to make a module to add this support via kld
>Fix:
Please consider adding "device carp" to the GENERIC kernel.

Responsible-Changed-Why:
Hello Max, from what I remember you maintain this, can you please have a
look at the suggestion in the ticket (I think this should just be a
question instead of a ticket!). Thanks.

State-Changed-Why:
ACtually, close this ticket. This is a user question, not a Problem
Report (PR). Please head to freebsd-arch
(http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo) and/or freebsd-net to ask
this question there. If it is a good idea people will implement this.
