>Description:
when I have 4GB of RAM and use the memory remap option then the box panics
when trying to mount root. The remap option of the BIOS is ok because I can
run it perfectly getting my 4GB with a SATA-II disk. I checked the adaptec
card on another PC where remap also worls fine and panics also.

Submitted no longer has the hardware to reproduce this; but keep the PR
around because it may indicate a generic problem with address size.

well, seems the problem is still there
another hardware (AM2) which supports more than 4megs of ram
SCSI adaptor is not usable when 4 or more megs are installed only up to 2
 SATA works
 I tried on amd64 7-beta4
it does not panic but can not find the boot sector or / partition, varies from
 boot to boot
