>Organization:
Armenian Computer Center
>Environment:
3.1 RELEASE from Walnut's CDROM, custom kernel
>Description:
when trying to run something like (setup old BSD style or new style broadcast address on
your network interface)
ifconfig iface_name 10.0.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 or
ifconfig iface_name 10.0.0.255 netmask 255.255.255.0
it gives no error and setups this IP address on interface,
but that address is unusable and may cause problems
when sending packets to real network
tried ONLY on ether pseudo-device
>How-To-Repeat:
ifconfig iface_name 10.0.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 or
ifconfig iface_name 10.0.0.255 netmask 255.255.255.0
>Fix:
change to TCP/IP stack proposed
