>Description:
after some ocasional events like

the interface stops transmitting and need a complete power-off in order to come back. Reboot does not resolve the issue. It happens under load or not and happens with or without polling

Hello, is this accurate on 6.2? Are you using a GENERIC kernel? Are you
seeing this with different hardware as well?
I am using an vr interface myself in a 'loaded' colo machine and I do not
see the problem you are mentioning here in 6.1 and 6-stable.

I get this problema actually less with releng_6 (as from this days) but it is
 still existent.
This problem seems to be specific to onboard NIC on Gigabyte and ECS MicroATX
Motherboards with S939 and S754. I tried latest Bios Upgrades but no change.

Pyun is working on improving the vr interface, this might be
better applicable for him...

Is it still issue on more recent FreeBSD releases?
vr(4) was overhauled long time ago so I guess what you saw was
fixed.
