Ok, I see what you mean.  Actually, without knowing it, I just fixed
this problem when I was searching for the problem you stated.

The easiest way for you, if you are using 2.1.7, is to get all files
in
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports-current/print/ghostscript
and compile the port using these files.
