I am trying to install FreeBSD 6.0 on an IBM PC 300GL (Pentium III
533MHz with 80GB Western Digital HDD)

On standard installation I receive a message "no disks found!"

When I try to install Windows XP, XP does recognize the disk.

I had FreeBSD 6.0 before on this machine, using an IBM 20GB HDD and it
was working fine.

Please help

Dimitris.

 The problem was solved.

The disk has been recognized by FreeBSD only after being placed as CS
(Cable Select) on the second connector of the IDE cable. Although in
other configurations it was properly recognized by Windows XP, only this
 configuration worked for FreeBSD.
