>Description:
The cd never starts the bootloader, it tries and you can see that it finds
/boot/loader but after that it reboots. We have installed a lot of bsd
machines at the place where i work so it's probably a machine problem but
FreeBSD 3.2 and 4.11 worked fine on the machine so disabling ACPI in the
BIOS was our first thought though that did not help at all. The machine
is a dual intel xeon motherboard with two single core xeon cpus with
hyperthreading, the parts are brand new and as i said before 3.2 and 4.11
worked fine just like windows worked fine on it. 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0 both
show the problems.

Here are some specs on the motherboard.

Asus PC-DL Deluxe
CPU: Intel Xeon up to 3.06GHz On-die 512KB L2 cache
Chipset: Intel 82875P MCH; Intel 82801ER ICH5R
FSB: 533/400MHz
Memory: Dual-channel 4x184pin DDR DIMM up to 4GB PC2700/2100

I think thats all you need really. I should note that we tried downloading
new images from more than one site, used already ready cds that had been
used the days before the problem and checked md5 checksums.
>How-To-Repeat:
Boot a 5.3, 5.4 or 6.0 cd.

Responsible-Changed-Why:
This sounds as though it might be i386-specific. Note that this PR is
reporting a regression as vs. 4.X.

 Hi

Just now my boss came in here saying that he changed from the IDE RAID
built into the motherboard to just regular IDE and it booted.

 Hi

Final followup for this bug, you can close it. The boss set both the
drives on master and it booted fine, maybe you should fix it so it
doesn't reboot when this happens but it sure was user error.
