>Organization:
Sapient Systems Laboratories
>Environment:
Not applicable (cannot boot)
>Description:
The FreeBSD bootloader is incapable of reading from an Intel ICP Vortex RAID controller. Booting from CD-ROM allows a kernel with the appropriate driver (iir) to load, and installation then proceeds to the array without problem. On reboot, the bootloader complains that it cannot read "/boot/loader" and it makes no difference what partitioning scheme/boot block is used.
>How-To-Repeat:
Boot from CD-ROM. Install to RAID array using iir driver. Reboot machine.

State-Changed-Why:
Hello,

We are now in 6.1 release of FreeBSD and a lot of changed occured between
the release you mentioned and the current one. Can you please test whether
the problem is still there in more recent FreeBSD versions so that we can
decide whether we need to look into this or not.

Thanks
