Attempting to boot an acer TravelMate 291LCi laptop from disk 1 of the
FreeBSD i386 5.2.1-RELEASE installation CD set.

The boot hung at this point, with the cursor on top of the 'f' at the

 I have the same problem with my Acer TravelMate 290E with 5.3 Release, 
 booting form CD. I also tried 4.11 with the same result. The 
 installation frezzes at the same point:
