>Release: FreeBSD 2.2.5-STABLE i386
>Organization:
>Environment:
Micron Millenia Pro2, SMC Ethernet card using DEC 21041-AA, Kingston
Ethernet card using DEC 21041-PA (same results with both Ethernet
cards), both cards have all 3 media interfaces, 3Com 10BaseT hub,
Artisoft 10BaseT hub (same results with both hubs), 2.2.5-STABLE
built from sources CVSup'ed on Dec. 9, 1997.
>Description:
Ethernet card is connected to a 10BaseT hub, no media or link options
specified in rc.conf ifconfig parameters. On bootup the card/driver
correctly selects the 10BaseT media. If the cable is unplugged from
the hub nothing happens (i.e. no console messages). When the cable is
plugged back into the hub the console displays either "de0: enabling
BNC port" or "de0: enabling AUI port". Further mucking with the cable
does nothing. Manually setting the media type at this point using
ifconfig gets the card/driver back to the correct media.
>How-To-Repeat:
As above.
>Fix:
???

Old OS release, old driver; if the problem still manifests
itself under the dc driver on 4.x, a new PR can be
opened.
