I have an ATX box which is using PS2 mouse and keyboard, but I only have regular
PC mouse and keyboard. I use adapter for both mouse and keyboard, and everything
works fine. The motherboard I have is ASUS KN-97-X for Pentinum-II.

You need to provide more information when you submit a bug report. By guessing,
you may have a ATX motherboard, which uses PS2 input device connectors.
Or, you have regular motherboard and try to use PS2 mouse and keyboard?

You state that "like ps2_>full din, and vise-versa" and sound like you tried
both, which is not very true case.

Is this in any way related to your another PR below (to which I have
 already responded)?

I cannot get the thing to install...the system boots fine off of the floppy, th

turn off the computer, and try to install again...same thing happens...over and
over again, on more than just one machine, using more than just one configurat
ion of that system, ie: Cyrix processor didn't work, so tried an Intel...etc.

This should have no effect on either probing of the keyboard hardware or
anything else for that matter. The only differences between the two types
of keyboards is the pin configuration. I am successfully using a keyboard
 with a PS/2 connector on it with a PS/2->DIN adaptor.  It's an M$ Natural
keyboard of all things evil, too. Were you moving the SAME keyboard(s)
around to the different machines when you tried all these installs?

The originator thinks the keyboard adapter was the cause of the problem
he reported in i386/4873. Further discussion on this issue should be
followed in that PR.
