FreeBSD LinuxBSDBox 4.6-RELEASE #0: Tue Jun 11 06:14:12 GMT 2002 murray@builder.freebsdmall.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC i386
>Description:
Upon running "kldload snd_emu10k1", the system locks up and requires a hard reboot. I get a line saying that the device was found and assigned irq 12, but nothing further happens. This is not a hardware problem as both Linux and Windows 98 use the sound card just fine. If it is at all beneficial, my system is as follows:

AMD Athlon XP 2200+
Via KT333 chipset
512MB Corsair DDR 333
Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1
Highpoint HPT372 RAID Controller
ATI Radeon 8500LE graphics
>How-To-Repeat:
Simply try to load the snd_emu10k1 module.

State-Changed-When: Sun Jul 13 00:21:02 PDT 2003
State-Changed-Why:
Are you sure you are not trying to kldload a module corresponding
to an old kernel? You must rebuild your modules along with your
kernel when you update the sources.

State-Changed-Why:
I can't reproduce this in 5.2. If this but still exists in 4.x, I don't
see it getting fixed unless a PR submitter has a patch for it.
Very sorry about this.
