re: bin.ai --the file saves itself as "bin" after download, and, on renaming, does not return a checksum value.  What should it be, "bin.ai" or "bin".
re: bin.au--the file is usually associated with MS MediaPlayer and all associated audio files, which are saved as *.au.  This IS the i386 folder.

This is probably due to the fact that you are using either 
netscape och IE to download the files. 

Use a FTP program that do not strip away the extention 
from the filename and it should work just fine. 

One such program is fetch in FreeBSD.
