In case I left something out, the complete GDB output with backtrace is

State-Changed-Why:
Does this problem persist in later releases? If so,
can you please obtain a gdb traceback from a kernel
containing debugging symbols (this shows the source code
line numbers in the traceback, which is important debugging
information).

Including the contents of the URL referenced in the PR incase it
 disappears at some point.

See also kern/37015 which is a similar panic in the write() syscall
 path.

Apologies if this is the wrong way to go about this.

Bug report i386/36850 "Kernel panic page fault occurs when using ppp with
 USB modem:"

I have this problem using an Abit BX6v2 (i440HX chipset) motherboard on
FreeBSD 4.7-STABLE, with a Zoom V.92 Model 3090 USB modem.

Upgraded to FreeBSD 4.9-RC and problem still occurs.

If you need me to submit any more information or check anything else please
 get back to me.

 Thanks
 Ian

Can you please try the patch at http://www.josef-k.net/freebsd/ and see
whether that fixes the problem for you.

 Thanks,
 Joe
