downloaded the .iso image, burnt. Tryed installing from floopy, and booting from cd.
on both occasions after detecting my devices the installation froze on the screen right after it has probed the devices. I have tried altering power management, udating bios etc. Also tried different graphics card, takeing sound cards and scsi cards out.

System: ATX, PII350, Supermicro P6SBA motherboard, 192megs PC100 ram, 3dfx voodoo3 2000, creative soundblaster 128, sonic vortex 2, advansys 2930C scsi card, win95 keyboard, logitech mouseman+.

I had a similar problem on any function requiring the use of the device probe (Everything from initial install to running /stand/sysinstall). I solved the problem by enabling the "Plug & Play" option in the BIOS.

 hi,
did you check if the floppies you wrote to, were clean and properly
 formatted,
because sometimes if the floppies are messed, then the neccessary stuff
 on
 it can get mocked up..

just one of the things to look out for...

This PR can be closed as the problem was most certainly related to the
 media
being faulty (the darned floppies..), or the BIOS settings...

Could you try setting "PNP OS" in the BIOS and see if that helps?
These problems can be tricky to track down, but the hardware you
have seems standard enough and there is no obvious reason why you
should be having a problem.
