>Release: FreeBSD 3.0-CURRENT i386
>Organization:
Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway
>Environment:

Diskless FreeBSD-3.0-CURRENT kernel, with in-kernel BOOTP support.
	fbsdboot.exe used to boot kernel.
        Kernel configured without floppy driver.

>Description:

The floppy drive does not stop spinning after booting
a FreeBSD kernel from a floppy using fbsdboot.exe.

>How-To-Repeat:

Use fbsdboot.exe to boot a kernel from floppy that does not
	contain a floppy driver.

>Fix:

Add a delay in fbsdboot.exe before starting the kernel.

Workaround:

	Configure kernel with floppy driver.

Not really a big issue, the kernel will stop the drive later

State-Changed-When: Sun Jan 24 09:33:28 PST 1999
State-Changed-Why:
This problem is not specific to fbsdboot.exe, but occurs with any
of the disk-based bootstraps, where the kernel is configured without
a floppy driver.

The fbsdboot.exe program is not compatible with the new boot code,
is not presently being maintained, and should probably be regarded as
obsolete.
