>Description:
An attempt to install FreeBSD 7.2 Release via bootonly CD image leads to nowhere. The network is ok, DHCP configuration is successful, but absolutely all efforts to connect anywhere to start installation are a failure with a message: "Couldn't open FTP connection to ftp.<lt|whatever>.freebsd.org: connection in wrong state."

Active FTP, passive FTP, FTP over HTTP proxy give the same -- nothing.
>How-To-Repeat:
Just try to install via network.

State-Changed-Why:
I do not think this classifies as a legitimate Problem Record.
Let us first investigate what is going on, you can do so by
sending the message to questions@FreeBSD.org and ask them what
steps you can take to resolve this. In any case you need to
provide more details about your hardware, and possibly try 8.0-RC2
to see whether that works or not. Thanks.

 Dear Sirs,

The 8.0-RC2 exposes the same behavior: LAN is working (DHCP request/ack
are ok), but no chance to connect anywhere.

 Yours faithfully, Vadim.
