>Description:
DRI Fails to work.

Heres some info from my dmesg:

[root@laptop ~]# dmesg |grep agp
agp0: <Intel 82855GME (855GME GMCH) SVGA controller> on vgapci0
agp0: detected 892k stolen memory
agp0: aperture size is 128M

[root@laptop ~]# dmesg |grep drm
drm0: <Intel i852GM/i855GM GMCH> on vgapci0
info: [drm] AGP at 0xf0000000 128MB
info: [drm] Initialized i915 1.5.0 20060119
drm1: <Intel i852GM/i855GM GMCH> on vgapci1
info: [drm] AGP at 0xf0000000 128MB
info: [drm] Initialized i915 1.5.0 20060119

I notice this recurring error message in the tty too for vadious PID's

error: [drm:pid725:i915_getparam] *ERROR* i915_getparam called with no initialization

FreeBSD 6.x previously did not have this problem on this very machine. I am not able to tell whether its an issue with 'stable' specifically, as I didnt test under RELEASE. I installed 7 and cvsup'd to stable straightaway and rebuilt world.

Seems to be a bug with the Xorg intel driver.

 If I pkg_delete xf86-video-intel-2.2.1 and instead install
 xf86-video-i810, DRI works.

Where do we go from here?

I filled a PR some time ago that i think it's related.

I had similar messages (and some other as well) on my laptop with 7-STABLE
when I had no procfs mounted. procfs is mandatory for gnome, and probably
for some other programs. Please try to add to /etc/fstab a line
 proc	/proc	procfs	rw	0	0
 and reboot.

Well, I was too optimistic. Mounting procfs did reduce the number of the messages
quite much, but sometimes I still see them on my notebook. Sorry for the noise.

I have looked for the processes which cause the error. I had to install a cron job,
 every minite running something like

 ps ax | sort -nu -o ~/pids

and after two days I found that it's

 /usr/local/libexec/gnome-screensaver-gl-helper

If I run it manually, I get the following.

 $ /usr/local/libexec/gnome-screensaver-gl-helper
 drmI830GetParam: -22
libGL warning: 3D driver returned no fbconfigs.
 libGL error: InitDriver failed
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
 0x24

 Is this of any help?
