Sorry, it's windows for the time being. I am pre release downloading iso's.
>Description:
MD5 (6.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso) = 3d27214700687c0b5390e8b6dd3706e3 (your MD5SUM)
                                   CBBD52B257FB1FDE3E22A13CC8EAAE85 (my calc)

The program I used to calculate the md5 of the downloaded iso comes up with
a different md5 than that posted in the download directory, although it calculated the same MD5 for the other two files (disc2 and docs).

My file manager reports the size of the disc1.iso is 601,229,312 bytes. I downloaded the 6.2 release from the first in the list of the U.S ftp servers. ie
from here:

ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/
>How-To-Repeat:
recalculate the md5Sum for 6.2-Release-disc1.iso, compare result to your md5sum that you include with the release iso's.

 Hello John,

My official copy from one of the dutch ftp servers has the correct md5 sum

       -bash-2.05b$ md5 6.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso
       MD5 (6.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso) = 3d27214700687c0b5390e8b6dd3706e3

The sizes are the same as on the official server, I am downloading that
one now to see any potential changes.

State-Changed-Why:
I was able to reproduce and together with the ftp.freebsd.org
hostmaster, we resolved this, mostly likely a glitch in the transfer(s),
the incorrect version had no obvious changes (compared with cmp -x).
Resolving the ticket, thanks for the notifcation, and the willingness to
improve FreeBSD
