>Description:
When i try to erase (or blank) a 700MB cdrw, burncd gets stock and in dmesg there is a message: "acd0: FAILURE - READ_CAPACITY ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=0x27 ascq=0x00". I had the same problem in FreeBSD 5.5 Release, 6.1 Release. Now on 6.2 Prelease too. But when i want to erase small eg. 185 cdrw it work's fine, except it never ends. I have <LITE-ON LTR-16102B/OS0E> at ata1-master UDMA33. With burning CDs i have no problems.
>How-To-Repeat:
Burn something on 700mb cdrw and then try to erase it with burncd erase.

State-Changed-Why:
Does this occur with other applications as well? (There are more burning applications).
I want to figure out whether this is some illegal access from burncd or that it is
something buggy in our code.

It must have something to do with your specific hardware. I use 700 MB
CD-RWs for years and with all releases and never had any problems.

Does it work with other operating systems?

Adding to audit trail from misfiled PR kern/106930:

Cdrecord gave me explanation. I was trying to erase ultra speed cdrw disc,
but my recorder is too slow. I've changed disc to high speed and everything
orks fine except.. burncd is making endless loop. It's really annoying. Some
info from burncd about inappropriate disc would be nice.

State-Changed-Why:
OK: I Will close this PR since "burncd" should be fixed upstream
and not within freebsd. Please consider contacting the authors
and explain the situation, the current description within this
ticket should be a good start i think.

goodluck!
