Section 24.4 The Packet Filter (PF) Firewall in handbook contains wrong date in the first sentence: "As of *July 2003* the OpenBSD firewall software application known as PF was ported to FreeBSD 5.3.". I think the year should not be 2003 but 2004.

I'm not a native english speaker, so I might be wrong.

Look at the first sentence in the section 24.4 of the handbook.

Change year 2003 to 2004.

You are right insofar, that PF was imported into the FreeBSD source tree
in 2004. The porting, however, started much earlier: in the summer
of 2003. PF was available though the ports collection from late 2003
 on.

 Does this address your concerns?

 Does this sentence:

As of July 2003 the OpenBSD firewall software application known
as PF was ported to FreeBSD 5.3.

 mean:

*From* July 2003 the OpenBSD firewall software application known
as PF was ported to FreeBSD 5.3.

 ? Shouldn't it then be:

As of July 2003 the OpenBSD firewall software application known
as PF was ported to FreeBSD.

(without 5.3). Maybe it should look like:

As of July 2003 the OpenBSD firewall software application known
as PF was ported to FreeBSD. It first appeared in FreeBSD 5.3
but was available in ports earlier, from late 2003.

Because if not, it seems strange to me, that it was ported in 2003 into
FreeBSD 5.3, which was released in 2004.

But again, I am not an english native speaker, so it may be 100% correct
 and I understand it wrong.
