>Organization:
>Environment:

	FreeBSD-current (3.x) running on PPro 200 ASUS motherboard w/
	sound blaster 16.

>Description:

the soundblaster ISA DMA locks up the machine. I do not believe
there is anything wrong with the software. Turning off USWC
write posting in the bios fixes the problem.

FreeBSD documentation should be adjusted to include a note to this
	effect in i386/conf/LINT.

>How-To-Repeat:

>Fix:

Just needs a bit more documentation.

Two reasons: 1) the responsible person is freebsd-doc to gnats,
and 2) to test a tweak to gnats config files.

Hi Matt... I was scanning through the docs PRs and discovered this one.

Does this problem still affect you? Do you know of anyone else affected
by the same bug? I'm wondering if this is just an isolated case or if it
does warrant a FAQ entry or LINT or something.

 Thanks!

hmmm... it may be obsolete now with the new sound drivers, I don't know.
It probably warrants a LINT comment (the comment can always be removed
later). I don't have a sound card installed in my PPro at the moment
so I can't really test to see if it is still a problem.
