>Description:
In describing the options for a protocol field, setkey(8) says that
"esp" refers to the ESP format documented in rfc2405. RFC2405 actually
refers to a particular ESP cipher; RFC2406 is the generic ESP RFC.

	See the description above.

 Hello

I think you are correct about setkey(8) referencing the wrong RFC for
 ESP. Some addional information :

setkey(8) states that esp-old is based on RFC1827.

RFC1827: IP Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP)
RFC2405: The ESP DES-CBC Cipher Algorithm With Explicit IV
RFC2406: IP Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP)

RFC2406 states that it obsoletes RFC1827.

Since setkey(8) originates from KAME, and since people from the KAME
project are most likely to know if the manual page really is incorrect,
I have filed this as KAME PR/480 (
 http://orange.kame.net/dev/query-pr.cgi?pr=3D480 ).

 Hello

It was in fact the wrong RFC, and it has been corrected in the KAME
 repository in v. 1.77 of setkey.8.
