<http://www.FreeBSD.org/ports/index.html> says XFree86 3.3.6 is current. Should be 4.2.0, per 4.6-RELEASE.
>How-To-Repeat:
Go to <http://www.FreeBSD.org/ports/index.html> (or whatever its real URL is), and see:

"Many of the ports require the X Window System to compile and run. We compile and test our ports on XFree86. Their current release is 3.3.6. Some ports may not work with older or newer releases."

In addition to changing the docs to reflect the current version of XFree86,
I'd also like to recommend mentioning the flag in /etc/make.conf for newer
systems. Since the current is 4.2, if you have 3.x, you need to specify
XFREE86_VERSION=3 in make.conf. This is also stated in Release notes for
 4.6, section 2.3.2.
