FAQ dated Wed Jul 11 04:01:00 2001

Chapter 2 - Question 11 - Paragraph 2:
"we suggest you by a new hard drive."
-> "we suggest you _buy_ a new hard drive."

Chapter 2 - Question 16 - Paragraph 1:
"what manufacturers claim is the quote physical geometry"
-> Shouldn't there be an unquote after "physical geometry"?
Or shouldn't "physical geometry" really be between quotation marks?

Chapter 2 - Question 25 - Paragraph 1:
"The boot blocks think the system is installed on wd1"
-> Wasn't wd replaced with ad in 4.0? Shouldn't there be a mention
that the problem was solved for 4.0 and higher?

Chapter 2 - Question 26 - Paragraph 1:
"use 9 chip memory modules vice 18 chip memory modules."
-> "vice" ? Were you aiming for "versus" perhaps?

Chapter 2 - Question 28 - Paragraph 1:
"The maxiumum file size"
-> "The _maximum_ file size"

Chapter 3 - Question 7 - Paragraph 1:
"so the should all look like SCSI disks to FreeBSD"
-> "so _they_ (?) should all look like SCSI disks to FreeBSD"

Chapter 3 - Question 9 - Paragraph 3:
"tell the console driver to use the existence of the USB keyboard."
-> "tell the console driver _about_ (?) the existence of the USB keyboard."

Chapter 4 - Question 10 - Paragraph 3:
"If you next run make buildworld again"
-> "If you _then_ run make buildworld again"

Chapter 4 - Question 19 - Paragraph 3:
"This situation does not arise in FreeBSD 4.x as has a lot of work has been done to make the it more PnP-centric"
-> "This situation does not arise in FreeBSD 4.x as _ a lot of work has been done to make _ it more PnP-centric"
remove "has" and "the"

Chapter 5 - Question 4 - Paragraph 1:
"Xi Graphics and Metro Link sells Accelerated-X product"
-> "Xi Graphics and Metro Link _sell_ Accelerated-X product"

Chapter 6 - Question 3:
The answer doesn't seem relevant to the question but I might be wrong.

Chapter 6 - Question 11:
"If you want to run some aout applications"
-> "If you want to run some _a.out_ applications"
"and some aout libs."
-> "and some _a.out_ libs."

Chapter 8 - Question 21:
options SYSVSHM
options SYSVSHM # enable shared memory
-> Should "options SYSVSHM" appear twice?

Chapter 8 - Question 33:
"Go into single user mode and than back to multi user mode."
-> "Go into single user mode and _then_ back to multi user mode."

Chapter 8 - Question 39:
"or change the security in /etc/rc.conf then reboot."
-> "or change the security _level_ in /etc/rc.conf then reboot."

Chapter 10 - Question 23:
OK, this one isn't a typo. Isn't dummynet(4) also a bandwidth manager?

Chapter 11 - Question 23 - Paragraph 2:
"If, as a result of ppps dynamic IP assignment"
-> "If, as a result of _ppp's_ dynamic IP assignment"

Chapter 13 - Question 1 - Paragraph 2:
"when the system is truely idle."
-> "when the system is _truly_ idle."

Chapter 13 - Question 4 - Paragraph 1:
"As people ported unix from this simple system"
-> "As people ported _Unix_ from this simple system"
"for the early ports of unix"
-> "for the early ports of _Unix_"

State-Changed-Why:
I've fixed most of these, thanks! I think the only one I didn't fix was
the "ad1" vs "wd1" one; that's a general problem, and requires rewriting
the entire question. If you'd like, you can file another PR about that,
preferably with a patch :-).

Thanks again.
