Lower memory usage. A custom kernel often uses less memory than the GENERIC kernel by <?c>omitting unused features and device drivers. This is important because the kernel code remains resident in physical memory at all times, preventing that memory from being used by applications.

I am still unsure of what the issue you are trying to point out is. As
far as I can tell, the sentence "A custom kernel often uses less memory
than the GENERIC kernel by omitting unused features and device drivers."
is perfectly valid English and it explains that a kernel without
unneeded drivers uses less memory. Omitted, or omitting, means to not
 include.
Can you please try to explain in greater detail what the issue is?
 Regards!
