    The FAQ for the most part _does_ apply to 2.x -- that's what's

The requested change got incorporated already.  Nik missed this pr 
when he did revision 1.24 of the FAQ.  So I close it on his behalf. 

Please note that within a month or two we need to update it again to  
reflect the availability of 4.x to the masses.
