 It does. It's in calendar.holiday. Arguably calendar.usholiday is a
 better place.

 In calendar.holiday, we have:

01/SunThird	Martin Luther King Day in New York (3rd Sunday)

I don't know anything about US holidays, though I do know they get
shifted to a weekday if they fall on a weekend. Can you show some
evidence that the third Monday is the correct date for the holiday
(and not just the nearest weekday)?

Huh... Perhaps there are regional variations that I'm not aware of, but
I thought it was a national holiday. Oddly when I go back with 'calendar
-B 5 | sort' it gives (among others):
Jan 19* Martin Luther King Day in New York (3rd Sunday)
even though that was Monday, and it didn't show it when I ran it
yesterday or the day before. As long as I can remember, it has always
been on a Monday (giving us a day off from school). But then holidays
can be quite odd, with things like election day being the Tuesday after
the first Monday of November on even years only.
Ahh but now as I google for 'martin luther king day' I come across
 http://www.holidays.net/mlk/ which says:

Each year on the third Monday of January schools, federal offices, post
office and banks across America close as we celebrate the birth, the
life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I don't know about the whole New York thing.
 Thanks,

OK, what do you want me to do with the PR? If we're going to change
it, we need some kind of evidence that we're getting the correct day.

Well I did cite a reference saying that is was (for the United States)
the Third Monday in January in my previous email.
