>Organization:
>Environment:

Generic 2.2.5 with local postscript printer

>Description:

The printcap entry shipped with FreeBSD-2.2.5 sends a banner page to
the printer by default. At the risk of sounding green (after all what
is wrong with an 18% increase in Australia's green-house gas emisions
:-), I argue the default printcap should be shipped with the the banner
page suppressed.

The reaons are:

	o	this doesn't work off-the-shelf when the
		attached printer supports postscript.

o	It is a waste of paper.

o	is a legacy from the days when everyone
		used continuous-feed printers. Everyone
now-a-days has single sheet printers :-)

Have a smog free day :-)

>How-To-Repeat:

Print a page. Add a sheet to the recycling pile.

>Fix:

Add `:sh:' to the printcap entry shipped with future releases.
