>Release: FreeBSD 3.0-CURRENT i386
>Organization:
HotJobs Inc.
>Environment:

FreeBSD-current as of july 19th

>Description:

if you have multiple partitions like so:
1-DOS
2-DOS
3-FreeBSD (root partition here)

then add another freebsd partition like so:
1-DOS
2-FreeBSD (just more space)
3-FreeBSD (root/boot)

then you change partition 2 to a FreeBSD partition you can't boot from partition 3 anymore,
this is on a partition > 1024 i think.

>How-To-Repeat:

you can use sysinstall to do it, or manually create/change the partition

>Fix:
don't know, but you can boot again if you use a install floppie to remove the extra partition. after you make it ANY kinda of non-freebsd partition, you can boot from it. (ext2fs/dos/nothing)
