 i can only submit a /me too.

i tried this with 2 different CDROM drives on 4.6.2-RELEASE. cdcontrol
eject only works when a CD is inserted, cdcontrol close doesn't work for
 me at all.

Workingness of eject and close seems to be very firmware-dependent. I see
the following for cdcontrol in -current:

 <CD-RW <RICOH CD-RW MP7320A>:
eject with disk in drive: succeeds
eject without disk in drive: fails (no error)
eject with disk in drive: fails (EBUSY)
eject without disk in drive: fails (EBUSY)
 <ASUS DVD-ROM E616>:
     all cases just work

This used to work for all of my machines. It doesn't work now.
 I conclude, something was broken.

State-Changed-Why:
The eject/close behavior of different drives/firmwares are not
equal, some drives work some does not, some works when a CD is
present but not without. There is nothing I can do from the
driver, sorry :(
