1) Setup an /etc/distfile file to copy some files to a machine that isn't currently up.
2) Make sure ssh is on the machine you run rdist from.
3) Run rdist -P ssh -f /etc/distfile

I could not reproduce this using OpenSSH or ssh-1.2.27.  If
