>Description:
While there are several protocols mentioned in rfc-1700 that are missing
from /etc/protocols there are some that are rather common that are
missing such as 9-IGP. Is the main reason for not including all the
protocols that are specificed in rfc-1700 (or perhaps a later version
when this is read) mainly to speed the running time of the getproto*()
family of functions?
>How-To-Repeat:

>Fix:
Add the specified numbers by rfc's to the protocols file.

That's because they don't really exist. There are already too many
outdated protocols in /etc/protocols. If you can find a protocol
which is in actual use right now and which is not covered by the file,
then please send a more specific bug report naming that protocol. If
you just want a complete list of assigned protocol numbers, then you
can get it from the IANA's Web site.

State-Changed-Why:
As mentioned by Garret Wollman in response to this PR,
we do not automatically add all protocols from the RFCs
to /etc/protocols. If there is a specific in-use protocol you
would like to see listed, please file a new PR.
