>Organization:
>Environment:

	N/A

>Description:

vi (nvi) is documented to have a -c flag that allows execution of commands
	upon startup.

	nvi -c "r /etc/motd"
	Does not read in /etc/motd.

>How-To-Repeat:

	run:
	nvi -c "r /etc/motd"
and you'll see it does nothing.

>Fix:

no fix yet. I have played with vim, and vim appears to work okay for this option
however I'm having annoying terminal/control character escaping issues with vim.

State-Changed-Why:
Hi
NVi is a contributed software and bugs should be reported to its
maintainer. However note that our version of NVi is 1.79
and the latest version is 1.81.0.

Please report this problem to bostic@bostic.com if it has not
been solved in the latest NVi version.

You can find the latest version at:
http://www.gv.kotnet.org/~skimo/nvi/devel/

Please also report back to
freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org
with the subject of this mail as subject when a new version
with this fixed is available, so we can import the new version.

Thank you for your report and help.
