>Environment:
>Description:
A known good Adaptec 4805SAS controller (works fine under 6.2 i386) and
new, known good hardware causes the system to panic. The system was booted
off of FreeBSD 6.2 - AMD64 install CD. When the loaded kernel probed the
controller it paniced with the following message

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode

A screen shot of the panic message can be found at

  http://www.mooseriver.com/~jgrosch/FreeBSD/dump.png

This problem also exists with FreeBSD 6.1 - AMD64

>How-To-Repeat:
Boot the system with a FreeBSD 6.x - amd64 install CD

Believed fixed in CVS; provided link to kernel debugging info in case it still happens.

I'm using this controller on RELENG_6 i386 and amd64 without issue now,
so I think my recent merges from Adaptec's drivers and elsewhere have
 probably solved your issue.

If it still panics for you with RELENG_6 from CVS, please obtain a
kernel core file by following the directions at

 http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/developers-handbook/kerneldebug.html

Feedback timeout. Likely fixed in latest SVN/CVS driver.
