satan-1.1.1.linux.fixed2 (6-15-97)

To compile satan, do this...

satan-1.1.1# perl reconfig
           # make linux

To use satan you need perl version 5.001n or later installed.
You also need a browser, lynx, netscape, or mosaic installed.
When you run 'perl reconfig' it will look for perl and a browser,
and put the path to these two things in it's files, so it knows
where to find them.

If it finds or you choose netscape as the browser, you have to start
satan in X windows.

I have perl v.5.003 and lynx.v.2.7.1, so 'perl reconfig' found them in
/usr/bin/perl or /usr/local/bin/perl & /usr/local/bin/lynx.

You'll most likely get warnings when compiling satan, but hopefully it
will compile.

There's a formatted version ot the man page, you can read it with more
or less.
~# more satan.man

To start satan 'satan-1.1.1/satan' this is after you or connected
slip/ppp etc., then satan starts the browser, lynx, netscape, etc.

There's plenty of reading material.
