Longview/Gregg County Airport
KGGG (v 1.1) - FS 5.0a FREEWARE Scenery
(c) 1996 by Rob Clark, kk5ni@amsat.org

* THIS SCENERY REQUIRES THE AIRPORT .OAV FILES. *

This is Gregg County Airport-- located 3 miles south of the
county seat, Longview, Texas. Longview is 120 miles east of
Dallas and 60 miles west of Shreveport, LA on Interstate 20 in
the "Piney Woods" of East Texas.

With its 10,000 foot runway, Gregg County Airport is a popular
stop for military aircraft and diverted airliners. Regular
regional service from DFW is provided by American Eagle. Air
Force One also made a campaign stop here this fall.

Watch out for Cherokees making "lazy circles in the sky!"
Flight instruction is offered by Stebbins Aviation (Texaco
Products Distributor) and Letourneau University. The other
FBO is Sunpoint Aviation (Exxon Avitat), formerly Omega Jet.
The refuel area is located in front of the Sunpoint hangar.

I have been using the Bruce Artwick flight simulators since FS1 for the
Apple ][. Needless to say, FS scenery has come a long way since then!
I used AIRPORT 1.22j and 1.23b, SCASM 1.6, VOD 2.2, and R8WORX to make this
scenery. Thanks to the authors! I use FS 5.0 with the 5.0a patch and
no Flight Shop.

The navigational data should be accurate-- this is FAA information
from http://www.cc.gatech.edu/fly/cgi-bin/airport-info?id=GGG

The scenery is simplified-- hopefully there are enough "little touches"
so that those familiar with this airport will recognize it.

Let me know what you think!
Happy landings.... Rob, kk5ni@amsat.org
