tar/cpio does not work on the net device

Symptom

Both tar and cpio do not work on a device at another computer, /etc/rmt is not found.

The tar programme starts directly on the target computer the programme /etc/rmt, what corresponds to the Unix standard. This programme is indeed in the S.u.S.E. distribution in /sbin, because in /etc should not be any binary programme according to the file system standard.

Solution

Copy or link /sbin/rmt to /etc in the target system, e.g. by 
	ln -s /sbin/rmt /etc

Hint

rmt is contained in the packet dump (Serie ap).
