During the execution of YaST the program ldconfig
emits messages like the following :
pre>
/sbin/ldconfig:
warning: canīt open /usr/X11R6/lib/liblm.so (no such file or directory) usw.
or / and:
/sbin/ldconfig: warning: canīt open /usr/lib/libgtk.so (no such file or directory) usw.
ldconfig finds symbolic links when searching the library directories. Normally these point to dynamic libraries. However in the above mentioned case the real library is missing, so ldconfig can't open it.
There are several possible reasons why the library is missing :
root. There are two possible methods for the erasing
of the files :
rm. E.g. :
cd /usr/X11R6/lib && rm liblm.so
It is wise to call YaST again afterwards. Since you removed all erroneous links, ldconfig should emit no error-messages anymore
